ARRIVAL OF THE LOMBARDY CYCLING TOUR IN COMO ON AUGUST 15. AN APPOINTMENT NOT TO BE MISSED

On August 15 Como will be the scene of the arrival of the Giro di Lombardia, a classic European cycling not to be missed. An event that transforms Como into a great cycling festival
The cycling tour of Lombardy is one of the great European classics and is traditionally the race that closes the Italian cycling season. It was established in 1905 and in 2006 the race celebrated its 100th edition. The winner of the race is Fausto Coppi with five statements (four of which are consecutive), followed by Alfredo Binda with four and Henri Pélissier, Costante Girardengo, Gaetano Belloni, Gino Bartali, Sean Kelly and Damiano Cunego with three. Bartali himself is the one who has risen several times on the podium, nine: in addition to the three successes, he has put four second places and two thirds on the scoresheet.
Its symbol continues to remain the Ghisallo, a very famous climb that starts from Bellagio, to arrive at the homonymous church of the Madonna del Ghisallo, patron saint of cyclists. Equally known is the climb of the Muro di Sormano, present in many editions of the race.
